I know I've said it before but this time it's the TRUTH...Energize Soap is my FAVORITE bar. Why? Because it's *almost* better than my cup of coffee in the morning. The blend of pink grapefruit and lemongrass work in tandem to soothe my anxieties and get me going for the day. One sniff takes me straight to my happy place. The bright yellow color screams joy while the orange mica oil splatter lends a pop of opulence.

We were not prepared to open a storefront. We put that notion out of our heads and focused our energies on other aspects of the business. Needles to say when this opportunity arose, we had to jump at the chance. Working from a shoestring budget, we're DIYing most of our own display pieces while we wait to move in. I've quickly discovered that paint is my new best friend transforming ugly ducklings into beautiful swans. Check out some of our progress below: I can't wait to see what everything looks like in the shop. Luckily I have a few more weeks to prep and make a TON of product!
The end of Summertime for soap makers triggers the making of all things Fall. Each year I release a deliciously fragrant soap called, Autumn. Imagine taking an early morning stroll through your neighborhood on a brisk September day. The air is crisp. Freshly fallen leaves scrunch underfoot as you sip from a thermos filled with steamy apple cider. This soap captures all of that and more!
The video below shows the making of Autumn in a 30 pound batch. I use a total of 5 colors, alternating a pretty lax drop swirl technique and top the entire batch with a linear swirl. Enjoy!
I am still in shock as we sign our lease to our first commercial space in North Bend, Oregon. Waiting for my husband to pinch me and tell me I've been dreaming. It's all true though. This is really happening. The excitement is unreal and yet I'm more terrified than I've ever been. This is a huge new responsibility that comes with all manner of dollar signs attached to it. This is another big step that I'm taking with my little company who has become my second child. I started this business three years ago in an 1100 square foot apartment with a colicky infant and the world's most supportive husband. As the company grew, it felt like things were moving at a snails pace. Looking back now, three years went by quickly! Enough talk though...wanna see the space?? Ok...here it is: We plan on opening on October 8, 2015. Thank goodness we have time to stock up product and get our display pieces ready. I'll be sure to share shop updates along the way! |
